What is Bal-A-Vis-X
t Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of Balance / Auditory / Vision eXercises, of varied complexity, most of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. These exercises consist of multiple thousands of physical/auditory/visual midline crossings in three dimensions, crossings that are steadily rhythmic and auditorily based.

t
Bal-A-Vis-X enables the entire mind-body system to experience the natural symmetrical flow of a pendulum. These encourage full-body coordination and focused attention. The program utilizes beanbags, racquetballs, balance boards, and multiple principles and activities from Educational Kinesiology. It demands cooperation, promotes self-challenge. It is school friendly and just plain fun.

t
Bal-A-Vis-X exercises number more than 300. Individual exercises vary in complexity from one hand tossing/catching a single beanbag (filled with fine grain sand) to both hands bounce-juggling four racquetballs in rhythmic sequence. Partner exercises call for as many as six balls to be in simultaneous motion.

It benefits:

• Students whose auditory skills are inadequate for academic success. For these students, the rhythmic patterns create new awareness.
• Students whose visual acuity may be 20/20, yet whose vision is deficient in tracking, teaming and discrimination of details.
• For all students the gains in eye-hand coordination, overall confidence, self-esteem, are readily observable.

History
Bal-A-Vis-X was originated by Bill Hubert, a teacher who instructed language arts and Bal-A-Vis-X lab at the Hadley Middle School in Wichita, Kansas.
