“Analysis of a broad range of studies indicates that the kind of sustained professional development that increases student learning requires between 49 and 100 hours of contact on a single professional development focus. However, the report notes that in most areas, teachers were receiving less than 8 hours of training on a given topic, and the average reported number of hours of professional development in the United States was only about 44 hours combined across all six topic areas,” according to this release from the National Staff Development Council.

Credits for our workshops include:

  • 1 Graduate credit for Bal-A-Vis-X classes
  • 3 Graduate credits for Brain Gym 101
  • PDP certificates for all workshops

Our workshop offerings include:

Creating Connections Using Bal-A-Vis-X in the Classroom and Home (1.5/2 hour)

This introductory interactive workshop introduces a means to energize learning through movement. Bal-A-Vis-X, a series of Balance / Auditory / Vision eXercises that are deeply rooted in rhythm, will be observed. These exercises encourage full-body coordination and focused attention. It fosters cooperation, promotes self-challenge, is school-friendly and is just plain fun. The participant will begin to look at his or her students — special needs or typically functioning —through a noticing and exercise structure used in movement based learning. This structure offers an opportunity to gather classroom activities that enhance the existing curriculum. The effects of these activities lead our students into enhanced brain-body integration. This introductory workshop is designed to assist with the ease of learning, reading, math and creativity, along with improved athletic skills.
